Bacilos is a Latin pop and rock band that originated in Miami, Florida, in the late 1990s. The group was formed by Colombian singer and guitarist Jorge Villamizar, Brazilian bassist André Lopes, and Puerto Rican drummer José Javier Freire. Known for their infectious melodies and heartfelt lyrics, Bacilos quickly gained popularity with their unique blend of Latin rhythms and pop sensibilities. Their breakthrough came with the release of their 2002 album “Caraluna,” which included the hit singles “Mi Primer Millón” and “Caraluna,” earning them a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. Despite disbanding in 2007, Bacilos reunited in 2017 and continues to captivate audiences with their vibrant sound and dynamic performances.
